today Sophie and I went to a festival type thing which had traditional food, dance, music, drumming, all kinds of performances, as well as a ton of homemade and artesenal foods wines cheeses meats and MORE! We also went to a couple of free concerts which the city was putting on because it was a big art festival weekend, and went to this amazing old opera theater which was turned into a BOOK STORE!!
Buenos Aires Día 1!
navigating the streets and buses by myself (successfully) to get to Sophie’s apartment, going to the Recoleta cemetary, tons and tons of street vendors, walking about 40 blocks, asking for directions 10 different times and getting 7 different answers, stumbling across this amazing food event with chefs from around the world, live music, tango class, having coffee, another tango class, finding where the carnies live, watching a milonga tango show, meeting Sophie’s friends, dinner, crazy cheap taxi ride
AWESOME (extremely long) FIRST DAY!
Sophie: Hay para probar?
Chef: No, that's hers.
Sophie: So there's nothing to try for free? Like a taster?
Chef: No, that's hers. She bought it.
Sophie: ...ok. Well what is it?
Us: uhhh, nevermind then.
